Bones & Ashes 2024 PandZer Tank Interview

Bones & Ashes 2024 saw several tanks come to the event. One such was the "PandZer" Tank brought by Antwan "Puffs" Rose and Michael "Apple Jacks" Goodman of the LAPD Lynchburg Area Paintball Division.

Was this your first time building a walking paintball tank and or your first event with a paintball tank?

Yes, this was my first time building and fielding a tank.

What were your biggest challenges in building your tank?

Coming up with something that looked like a tank and port holes for the markers.

What materials was your tank primarily built out of? What did you use for wheels?

The structure was pine 2x3, walls were foam core with a sprayed on outer fiberglass layer (turned out very light), and the wheels were from a mountain bike.

How did you transport it? Did it collapse or come apart for travel?

It totally broke down and laid flat.

After it using it at Bones & Ashes, what improvement or changes would you make?

Steering will take priority and shaving some weight. We had to stop and lift the tank to make runs. It was a pain! It was the also the largest challenge we had on the field.

Beyond the required 2 people for the tank per event rules, how many people could you fit in tank?

The tank was built to hold 3 people total.

Overall, how happy were you with your tank and its performance on the field?

We are 100% happy. We had some epic battles and on Sunday went head to head with a blue tank!

Did you guys find yourselves more often eliminated or run out deployment time?

Most the time we ran out of time.

Did your tank last the event?

Yes it did. It was over built.

What advice would you give to those looking to follow in your footsteps in creating this type of rolled/pushing tank?

Let your ideas flow and plan to have a launcher on board. Paging Nova! Interested in sponsorship?
